Should his name be on baby shower invite?

My child’s father received an invitation for my baby shower (that my mom is throwing) his name was not included on the invite. He is upset because his name is not on the invite. He does not live in the same state as me. My whole pregnancy he has only sent me $20 despite blowing money on trips and Alcohol while ignoring my calls/texts about appointments. 
He texted me and said “If I come can we place my name on the invitation?” 
The baby shower is going to happen regardless of whether or not he comes so...

Sounds like he's going to be a pretty uninvolved parent (at best), so really it's for people to gift & celebrate you-- as the only primary carer. I don't really see a reason to put this name on there.

The shower is for Mommy. Now if it was a couples shower that would be different. But no his name doesn’t have to be. You should send him a new one and in pen write his name on the side. Be like here...

I hit yes by accident lol he seems like a real gem... 😳 I wouldn’t put his name on MY invitation, so I wouldn’t let it bother you what so ever.

I think bc you are not together and I’m assuming none of his friends or family are invited that it’s fine to just have your name on the invite. We are doing a coed shower with both sides of the family so we included my husbands name on the invitation.
