What is the armbar on a stroller for?

Hi ladies, I'm a ftm and I'm not sure what the armbar attachment on the stroller is used for. If I attach the armbar, does it mean that I don't have to put on the seat belt? My son is 7 months and can sit up right now. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I Googled it and could not find a clear answer 😅

Just something for baby to hold onto or you can attach toys to it. No it does not replace the function of the seatbelt

Definitely always use the seatbelt. I think it's just meant to provide baby with extra stability. 
My stroller also accommodates a click connect carseat. It clicks onto the armbar.

Mine doesn't have an armbar, so I can't answer the function question but I do know what they look like-- definitely use the seatbelt still. If the stroller were to tip, the armbar would not keep a 7mo safe.
