Hello! Looking for someone going through something similar as I am. Here’s my story.. When I was 16 years old I was put on birth control (oral) for very heavy and irregular periods. Once I started taking birth control my periods came like clockwork, starting on time every month and only lasting about 5 days. I stayed on birth control until I was 21 years old. When I stopped taking birth control I went 9 months without a period, all while having unprotected sex and never got pregnant. On the tenth month my period finally started and to my surprise normal.. Not irregular as before, starting on the 11th of every month and lasting about 6-7 days. I have been going 2- almost 3 years off birth control. I went to my OBGYN with concerns and wanting to conceive. They took my blood and bloodwork came back that my progesterone was very low. I was put on 200mg of progesterone ( oral pill) told to one pill at night everyday, day 18-28 of my cycle. The first month on progesterone my period started on time (11th) and was normal. The second month my period started 4 days early( 7th) and lasted the normal 6-7 days. The third month no period. I took a pregnancy test week of missed period- negative, one week after missed period- negative, and two weeks passed missed period, still negative. When I called and told the doctors office what is going on they told me to wait another week and test again and if that is negative to come in and have bloodwork done, and to continue taking the progesterone even without a period. It’s so hard to tell because all of my symptoms are also symptoms of taking progesterone. Sore nipples, lower back pain, feeling nauseous. I just want to hear of someone who maybe had the same experience or any experience with progesterone and a missed period. Thank you
