Can I leave my baby on the bed?

Question

I might sound dumb but I’m a first time mom with a ten day old baby boy. My husband went back to work, and since I had an emergency c-section it’s difficult for me to move around and bend in and out of the crib. If my baby is asleep is it okay to leave him on my bed while I do things around the room, or run to the rest room? Hes in the middle of the bed with no pillows or blankets near him.

They say not to but he’s obviously not rolling at this point so it’s not like he’s ganna roll off

I had a c section and we used this bassinet. It’s light u could put in middle of bed or bring baby where u are. It’s easy to put ur baby into it and get out.

I actually leave my daughter on the bed all the time in the day time. But she’s also being watched on the monitor with sound on. She’s 7 months and we have 0 incidents. 
She’s been rolling around more often but if you watch the baby, everything should be fine.

They make things you can put him in if that’s something you plan on doing. I’ve even seen someone put their baby in plastic bin and carry them around while they were cleaning

At 10 days old it is fine because baby doesn't move very much. But at 4 months my baby turbocrawled off the bed and fell on her head on my super hard terrazzo floor. She had never been known or seen to roll and crawl so fast that up to that point. Luckily she was fine!!! I bought bed guards for all sides of the bed since so I can leave her napping in the bed without worrying. And a whole lot of pillows and bolsters to line the edge. The bed offers more space to roll and play and do tummy time.

At this age I was leaving both my daughters in the bed with pillows around them. But, the older baby is, more dangerous it becomes.

If you want to be safe, take an empty pillow case, roll a towel and put it inside. Basically make your own dockatot😊

At that age yes he’s fine just don’t leave him for too long. Just put him far enough in the middle in the freak chance he wiggles at all.
