Sharing the spotlight

My husband's cousin just announced her pregnancy. She's got the same due date as me. Both are our first pregnancies and will be the first grandchildren to our respective parents. I guess it's lucky that we're not competing for first great grandchildren, but it doesn't feel fair that I should have to share the excitement with that side of the family. We're waiting for our Christmas cards to announce, but it feels less exciting now, like we're just an echo. I'm also jealous because they've only been married a year and we struggled with infertility. Hopefully, we both have healthy pregnancies and it's a fun situation where our kids have someone their age to play with at family get togethers rather than me harboring this jealous emotion that I'm being forced to share.
