Help?

I am currently 5 weeks 4 days pregnant and still haven’t seen a midwife or doctor yet? I live in the U.K. and when I phoned the doctor a week ago to report I was pregnant they said the midwife would ring me. I’m getting worried that I won’t be checked in time and something will be wrong, how long should I wait for them to ring me??

8-10 wks is normal. There’s not really anything to do or see at this stage. Just take your prenatals.

The midwife said it had to be at least 8 weeks before I could be seen so I’ve booked in for 8 weeks on the dot!

Sometimes you have to call them instead of waiting. Just make sure you're taking your prenatals and eating healthy and stay hydrated. You will spot and cramp throughout the first trimester. Long as you don't start bleeding heavy. Idk how they do in the UK but here the doctors won't see you til 8 weeks unless you've had previous problems with pregnancy or miscarriages. Everything will be OK. Just make sure you call again on Monday.

I’m over 6 weeks and still haven’t gotten a call or referral. It’ll be okay. Most doctors (at least in the US in my experience) won’t see you until you’re at least 8 weeks.

I'm UK too, currently 7+5 weeks. I rang the hospital I want to deliver in 10 days ago and they said they'd send me an apt in the post for my booking apt and scan. Still haven't had anything from them though so I'll ring back on Monday. They said on the phone that my midwife booking apt and scan would be on the same day though, so I guess they're not planning on seeing me at all til 12 weeks!  x

Hi lovely definitely chase it up, in my first pregnancy they lost my booking referral luckily I was impatient and called them after a week so it was picked up early. 
This time round I went to my gp and filled out the form the day I had my positive (lost my little boy in July so I’m quite anxious everything is booked on time) and the midwife called me that day and booked me in for 6+2. 
Your first appointment is literally just going over health questions etc and they’ll send off for your dating scan (although I’ve heard some places book it for you right there). Again I got this appointment through within 2 days last time I had to call to chase that up as well 🙄 xx

Just make sure you are taking a prenatal and staying hydrated 😊

I seen the midwife last week when i was 8 weeks for the first time and they had to call me back to make the app. I would call them though if u haven’t heard anything from them at 8 weeks, as they need to book your dating scan on that app so be nice to get it in the diary and not have to wait to long for that 😊

I’m in the U.K. My GP told me to call the birth centre near me and arrange a ‘booking appointment’. I’ve just has that at 6 weeks but it is literally just paperwork. She’s sending me to a consultant for a health complications and gave my my exemption certificate. 
I also have to book in with GP for bloods. But other than that nothing much happened. Ultrasound at 12 weeks and back to the midwife at 16 weeks.
