Needs help with a 6month old

Okay so since my son was born, he always slept on my chest (craziest thing I ever done) lol but now I need help he’s now 6 month and I’m trying to break him out of it, he only sleeps when laying on me, if I take him off my chest to lay him down he only sleep for a few mins then he’s waking up. During the night I can’t sleep because it’s uncomfortable for me to rest while he’s on my chest, so by me laying him in his bassinet or even in bed with me he doesn’t sleep more then an hour. If you have any tips that will be helpful I would appreciate it

Not to mention, he’s cries to lay on me.
