Anyone nursing have 1 beer and 1 cigarette?

Today is my 26th birthday. I smoked before I got pregnant but I quit every time I'm pregnant but smoke occasionally while drinking during breastfeeding. Of course feed pumped milk for atleast 2 hours. I really want to have a beer and a smoke but my baby is only 4 weeks so I'm feeling pretty guilty.

I wouldn't smoke due to the second and third hand smoke risk. But drinking a drink or two is fine. The rule of thumb with drinking and breastfeeding is if you are okay to drive you're okay to okay to nurse your baby. You can even nurse your baby while you have you first drink because it won't be in your system for a bit and that way you can get the most amount of time between your babies next feed and your drinks! I say go for the drink, but forget the cigarette. I quit when I got my positive as well. I’ve gotten a few urges when having a drink to smoke but I fight it. The nicotine is definitely not out of your system in the two hours that the drink is. It’s not worth it. Even if we weren’t breastfeeding.
