How’s the dentist going?

So today our daughter had her 2nd dental checkup and she screamed bloody murder the entire time the dentist was brushing/looking in her mouth. At home she’s not really that great at letting us brush her teeth either. Thank god no cavities but I’m wondering if it’s a struggle for anyone else? The kid sitting next to us did so well he just sat there quietly. I know they are getting their back molars in right now so maybe she’s super sensitive but it was so embarrassing! I’m dreading our next check up now...

I am SO NERVOUS girl
We go next week, the 10th, and my son has always been one of those "spirited" babies. He is still a spirited toddler. He is such a good boy, but anything that is like..not his idea kind of? If ya know what I mean, is like a no go. I always feel so self conscious when he goes in for check ups. 🤦‍♀️ I have been wondering how everyone elses kid does during these visits to. I hunestly made my husband take the day off to go with me 😅😅😅

Same. He screams every time. I just deal with it as it comes and hope he will get better with time. Haircuts are even worse and I dread those.

Same! Was great the first visit, and talked about going back for days. She loved it. Second time she was excited again, until it came to touching her teeth, once that started the poor girl just screamed and screamed. I think it was because she's got the last 4 molars coming in. Of course 5 min later she was fine and asking to go back.

Uhh, I had bad experiences as a child and fought really hard as an adult to overcome my issues with dental care, so we decided to make it as positive as possible for our children.
Since my toddler was born, anytime we could we asked the dentist if we could bring her along for our own appointments. Sometimes she said she preferred us not to because she had a busy day, but other times she actually gave us an extra appointment slot. It helps that we started early on and she loves seeing the baby growing.
Now like this, my daughter loves visiting the dentist's. She loves exploring the office, climbing up to all of the chairs, climbing up onto our laps when we are being examined. Absolute favorite is the chair that can move up and down and up and down and up and down and... Plus the button press water fountain by the chair. I swear that's magical water, she can drink any amount of that and then she has to push buttons again.
And, of course, she will let the dentist to examine her teeth too. Since that's what we do there, after all the fun she will sit as patiently as a toddler can, and show her teeth.
I just hope we won't need fillings or anything for a long while...

Sooo ours screams everytime we try to brush his teeth and I’m dreading the dentist!! My 9 year went to his first apt at 2.5 and did perfect but I know Ethan will have a hard time!!
