What happens at the postpartum checkup

What will they do? Do they do like a Pap smear ? I’m literally scared they’re gonna put anything inside my vag! Lol

I had mine on Tuesday. She checked my belly to make sure my uterus had shrunk, she checked my breast for any clogged ducts/other issues, she checked stitches to make sure all was healed properly and she finally checked to make sure my cervix was closed. No pap but the cervix check was uncomfortable as always. Also got birth control.

I had mine earlier this week. He checked my tummy by pushing on it. Asked about bleeding and if i had stitches and contraception

I’ve literally been trying to google the same thing. After what I went through during labor I do not want anything inserted down there. I think they only do a Pap smear if u had an abnormal one in the beginning of your pregnancy.

From what I remember with my first pregnancy, your OB will check that your stitches have healed if you had any and ask about contraception. Not sure if they do another pap
