Is it "cheating" even though he's NOT my boyfriend??

I've been talking to this guy we'll call pineapple. Pineapple and i have been talking for almost 2 months and I can already tell how much this man cares about me. We did start off as mostly being sexual and he would say stuff how he doesn't want to find out that I'm fucking other guys and that he doesn't want me having sex w other guys, which is understandable due to health reasons. BUT recently we were talking if I was to talk to some other guy and he sounded pissed when i made a slick joke saying i should talk to a other guy (horrible, yes but girl i wanted to see his reaction) and he was telling me that i better tell other guys that i already have a man (pineapple). What he said is cute/makes my heart flutter but is he just being "controlling" or does he genuinely want to be with me? I like him and can see something developing but idk if i should make a mistake like i always do with guys and put all my eggs in one basket. Lately other guys have been hitting my line trying to hang out or do something but idk if it's a good idea cuz i feel like i would feel bad the whole time because of pineapple. I wouldn't sleep with these guys but i know i would feel some type of way if pineapple went out w other females. Pineapple asks for honesty so do I tell him beforehand that I'm going out w another guy just as friends even tho pineapple isn't my boyfriend or just hang out with other guys? I just feel like if i did go behind pineapples back and did it that it would be something hanging over my head
