I’m 21 my fiancé is about to be 23 years old. He treats me like shit. Always call me dumb,stupid, I have no common sense, etc. I honestly don’t know what to do. I’m not happy but I do love him. We have a so. And he’s 5 months old, I don’t want a broken family but no matter how many times I try it’s always the same shit.

I stayed in a relationship for 18 months with a man just like that. He called a sack of shit, a piece of shit, told me I wasn’t special, I wasn’t anything, and everything in the book. I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant and we’ve been broken up for 5 weeks and I honestly couldn’t be happier. I loved him more than anything BUT I love myself and my son more. I didn’t want my son to hear daddy calling mommy names or associating yelling and screaming with love. I rather him have a separated family than broken parents.

You need to put yourself and your son first. It’s better that he grows up with a happy and single mom than one who is behind verbally abused, unhappy and disrespected one. It’s not a healthy environment for any child to grow up with. Staying together for a child causes more harm if the relationship is toxic.
