Do you have to be a Certain weight for your height going through the IVF

Just wondering because I seen a lot of women talking about losing weight before they go to their appointment, I am about 40 over what I should according to my height￼￼￼

As I understand it, the BMI requirement is part of the UK national health system. In the United States, it can vary by doctor/clinic, but mostly they won’t require you to be at/below a specific weight for IVF.

I'm 5"2' and when I went to my first IVF appointment I was 209lbs, my doctor recommended I lose 15-20lbs but didn't push it too much. I just got my bfp last week at 191lbs.

I’m 5’8 I started the ivf around 155 then I gained weight during the ivf meds and stuff I got up to 185 but lost some weight and currently 7w1d with embryo transfer and I’m about 170 now. Still heavier then I started but my doc said weight gain was normal for all the stuff we put our body’s through hoping I can loose a little more

I think you see women who’s going through Ivf just trying to do as much as possible for that embroyo to stick. I know I ate healthy and workout up to transfer. Especially since the hormones have you bloated.

I believe you need to be below a certain BMI to qualify for IVF, but I’m sure it varies by clinic. I have read about women needing to fit in the “procedure chair” for IUI/IVF which I always found odd because I NEVER sat in a chair for either one, I was always on a bed.

I think it kinda depends on your doctor. I saw some very overweight patients in my clinic. So I do not believe my doctor had any BMI requirements.  But as a whole, losing weight will help you all around.  I'm sure I don't need to tell you that though💗
