I give up TTC, I am ready to adopt. Can any ladies tell me about their adoption story?

I am a little worried about adopting because everyone I know that has adopted, the child has grown into a messed up adult on drugs and in jail and they hate their adoptive parents. But I also want to give a child a home that needs a family. Not sure what to do

My dad was adopted and he loves his parents. He had zero interest in ever finding his birth parents. 
My aunt was also adopted. Loves her parents but did reach out and find her birth parents. They also have a good relationship.
I placed my two sons up for adoption when I was young. I’m still in their lives but they have a great relationship with their parents as well

I’m an adoptee. I was adopted at 22 months old by an amazing family! I graduated high school, college with honors and then graduate school. I’ve worked my entire adult life in the field I went to school for. I’ve been happily married for 8 years and at 36 years old I’m trying to conceive. We also want to adopt. I know several other successful adoptees that I’ve bonded with over the years! Adoption is something that must be placed on your heart and not a last resort.

My colleague was adopted. The worst thing she has going on is she's fiercely independent and a bit OCD lol. She loved her parents and felt very lucky. She owns her own house (on her own, not with a partner). Has a wonderful son and lots of friends, very social and loyal and honest.
