I'm afraid my breastfeeding journey is coming to an end. I don't want it to but I no longer know what to do

Amanda

I've been bf since the start with the same issues many women have, improper latching, etc. I met with a lactation nurse and we corrected the problem. My daughter had been doing great. I have a difficult time pumping anything, but I'm home with her all day and she eats plenty. Was anyway.. She's now 11 weeks, and over a month ago now, she refuses to stay latched if the flow isn't fast enough for her. She will cry and pull and unlatch multiple times no matter which breast I try. Once the let down occurs she's fine but once it slows again she refuses to nurse again. I'm not sure what to do. She was introduced to a bottle at 8 days old because she was sick and they wanted her getting every ounce she could. Once she was better, she has rarely had a bottle. I feel bad because at times the let down doesn't occur right away, and she won't stay on long enough to suck to create the let down. I've posted in other forums, I see 2 lactation nurses, but going in over a month now I'm starting to worry she's not getting enough to eat as she grows and will need more. My supply has taking a serious hit because she refuses to stay latched if it's not to her liking, so sometimes she is only nursing for a short time. I haven't returned to work yet in hope's I can fix this. I've been turning to the pump when feedings are short to try and keep my body thinking it needs to make more milk. Everything I'm able to pump (which is never over 3oz) I have to usually feed to her at some point to ensure she's getting enough. I've noticed night time is the worst. I don't know how to correct it or what I should do to keep my supply up. I've tried everything. Herbal, vitamins, power pumping, lactation nurses, skin to skin, nursing vacations..I've been so patient in this process, but she's not being patient in return which is the biggest issue. Is my breastfeeding journey coming to an end? 😞
