Bleeding before period while on on birth control

Hello so background info

I’ve been on birth control since august. They recently started going me a different kind since a month ago.

Okay so problem:

I forgot to take my pill the other day, and took it at 4am the next day... i started bleeding and kept on taking my regular non placebo pills. I am still bleeding and am supposed to be on the placebo pills next week.

I dont want to bleed for two weeks straight. And my pill weeks start on sunday. Should i just shift to my period pills til sunday and then start a new cycle pack or should i suck it up and bleed for two weeks? I dont know what to do but my cramps are so bad and ik bleeding anyways so why not get it over with.

Also does anyone know the science behind this? Im 100% not pregnant or whatever so im not like scared or anything im just curious... and want it to be over.
