It was for me. I weighed 117 when I had my first son and was back down to 94 in three weeks. I weighed 114 when I had my second and was back down to 94 within three weeks again. I actually had to be really careful because with my second, I was severely underweight for the entire duration of breastfeeding and accidentally got pregnant while still breastfeeding and underweight. I'm just going to have to make sure to double up on calories this time. I asked my doctor about it both times and they both ran my blood for thyroid issues and said there was nothing wrong, just that I wasn't effectively replacing the calories I was losing while breastfeeding.

I mean.. I gained 6lbs in my pregnancy and lost 21lbs in the first week post birth while exclusively breastfeeding and eating like a beast lol ... so I would say yes.. however I’m sure it varies in each person

You burn anywhere from 500-1000 calories every time you nurse.  That's why they tell you eat as much as you want and drink plenty of water
