Waking up screaming??

My baby is 6 weeks now and the last few days he has been waking during his daytime naps with a blood curdling scream. I would say it’s a cry like he’s been hurt but hes either in his bassinet at home or we’ve been out so he’s been in his car seat. He settles right down each time when I stroke his face and talk to him. Does anyone else’s baby do this?? The first time it caught me so off guard that I burst into tears after I got him settled. Today he went right back to sleep after and had been sleeping peacefully ever since
