Why is my vagina irritated?

So right inside my vagina, if I pull the lips back to look inside, it's redder then the rest of it and there is some slight irritation. I usually have this feeling when I have dry sex from the friction, but I had this feeling since yesterday. And I hadn't had sex in nearly three weeks. I went to planned parenthood and a doc looked and said it's nothing to be worried about. But naturally, I'm worried anyways. She gave me some anti fungal cream because I've been struggling with yeast infections, should I put some of that on?

Other then the redness and mild irritation, there's nothing really else suspicious. No smell, no discharge, I had sex last night and it wasn't painful. Any suggestions?
