Stomach flu like cramps in upper abdomen - 18 weeks

Alexandra

Hi all,

Last night around 11:30pm I woke up to stomach flu like cramping, lasted about an hour. Sorry for the TMI, had one bout of diarrhea and then laid back down but still had pretty severe cramping (think cramping you have in your stomach when you’re not pregnant when you have food poisoning or a big - it’s cramps then peaks then subsided). This is my second baby so I know what labor feels like, and although similar in the sense of the peaking, the cramps were too high and just had the familiar feeling of food poisoning/bug).

All the cramping was felt right below my breast bone and above my belly button so don’t think it had anything to do with the baby. What’s weird is it went anyway after about an hour (Which I’m thankful for but I for sure I had a bug).

I did have a pretty large Mexican meal for dinner but that was around 6:30pm so this took place about 5 hours later.

No cramping this morning, almost feels a little sore. Any idea what this could have been?
