How do I get my 18 month out of our bed?!

Our 18 month old has been sleeping in our bed. He has a crib but never used it!! Mostly my fault as I breastfed and co slept with him. My older kids slept with me until they were like 3 or 4 but I'm due with my 4th any day now. He shows no interest in sleeping in his crib and may I add he is highly attached to me! 😭 reality is gonna hit him when his little brother arrives. I know I should have started this along time ago but hes just loves his momma so much he cant sleep without me! Any tips ladies??

If your not going to let him coslesp when baby is born, u need to transition him now or when that baby is born his world is going to be rocked even more

We have the crib set up so that she sleeps in her own bed and if she needs us she just crawls up to us. The front of the crib has been removed and is just pushed up against ours. I love this set up and I wished I would have done it with my 1st.

My daughter never slept in bed with me (so I don't have experience) but maybe you could start by putting him in his crib for naps and ease him in that way?

With the new baby being due any day now you really didn't leave yourself enough time unfortunately. My son goes through phases of sleeping in his crib but then if he's teething or sick or whatever he won't and will only sleep in our bed and it messes up the whole thing. I've been letting him sleep with me when he needs to right now but when we transitioned him to the crib I slept in his room with him the first night and then left after he fell asleep the second night and so on. When he woke up I'd go in comfort him and 0ut him back down and repeated until he stayed asleep. There's a lot of different ways and some people do more of a cry it out method which I personally don't do. But with only a few days before baby is due you may not have time.

Think I may do the crib next to bed set up since I waited so last minute for this 🤦‍♀️ he doesnt even have a sleeping schedule, he naps mostly in the car when we pick up my older kids from school. If he does stay asleep after taking him out if his carseat we put him in his crib to nap. But never has he fell asleep there to nap. And at night he sleeps whenever he wants 😭.

It may be a little late now but have you thought about getting him an actual bed? I breastfeed and cosleep with my 18 month old as well. I’m only 6 weeks pregnant but plan on transitioning him into his own bed soon. He has a twin bed and I put him down for naps in it but want to eventually get him sleeping in it at night aswell. I plan on trying to cosleep in his bed for awhile and slowly transition him to sleeping alone.
