Thinking of getting off the pill

So I’m thinking I want to quit taking the birth control pill. I’ve heard bad things about it and I just want to know what some of you think before I fully decide! I don’t want to talk to my doctor about it bc she told me there was no side effects but I’ve seen otherwise online.. I’m not trying to get pregnant but me and my bf are super careful so I’m not stressing about that. It’s supposed to help w my period but my period has been irregular for a few months now so it’s not filling it’s purpose. I just want to know some second opinions!
