OB/Gyn ?

Question

Just found out I am approx. 5 weeks with my first. And I am just wondering what are some things I should look for when choosing a Doctor. I am in a new state and can’t ask my mom because I am not ready to tell her with it being so early so I am turning to you guys here 😌
What are some of the qualities you look for when choosing an OBGyn to help guide you through this process? Important things I should know as a first time mom-to-be?

First I make sure they are covered under my insurance and the hospital they deliver at is covered by my insurance. I have had too many issues with insurance so I always make sure I will be covered. Then I pick from the list of covered doctors my insurance provides me with and I look them up and look up reviews. You also have to make sure they are accepting new patients because even if they are covered and have great reviews doesn’t mean they are accepting new patients. After researching and reading reviews I decided where I want to go. Just remember you will likely end up seeing every OB at the office so pick one where they are all good. Toward the end of your pregnancy they make sure you see each doctor because you don’t know who will be on call when you go into labor so really any of those doctors could deliver your baby.

I always look at their reviews but that doesn't necessarily help because not everyone gets the same treatment unfortunately. But if you go to one and you don't like them you can always switch.
