What’s the earliest I can get a sweep done?

I truly believe this baby is bigger then what the ultrasound tech has been saying. I’ve delivered a 9lb and a 7lb baby. So them saying this one is roughly 5lbs is a complete lie to me because I am struggling just as bad as I did with my 9lb 21.5in my 7lb 21in was cake till maybe the last week.
I really would love to be induced which I’m sure I can get it at 38.5-39.5 timeframe. 
But I’ve heard some moms got a sweep and it started labor (if your bodys ready) 
So I really want to ask for a sweep and hopefully with all my walking and exercises I can go into labor at roughly 38 weeks. 
BUT how soon will the dr do the sweep? 
I am legit having a very hard time and I just know this baby is bigger then what they guess.
2 days before my 9lb was delivered they “estimated” her at 6lbs. WAY OFF 
3 days before my 7lb was delivered they “estimated” him at 8.4lb 
I had both mine at 39 weeks. 
I am 35.5weeks NOW. 
I’d love for the baby to stay in longer as this is my last one but my body physically can’t do it. I am 4’10 dad is 6’2 
So heavy and long babies are basically what we get lol 
I KNOW I have to ask my dr but I’m asking you ladies what is about the time frame he’ll say? So I guess I don’t get disappointed if it’s like 39 weeks 😒

My doctor won’t do sweeps until 40 weeks - so unless you have a medical reason for early induction I doubt your doctor will agree to a sweep at 38 weeks. Seems like you go into labor early anyways so just walk a lot and have sex and hopefully it will get things going.

It depends on your doc and hospital policy. Here they would induce from week 38 onwards because in the country I'm in they are generally more into intervention than letting people wait it out. But that means nothing if your specific doc is comfortable with something else.

I had a sweep done at my 38 week appointment when she checked to see if I was dilated at all, got induced for my high blood pressure later that day so I never got to see if the sweep helped anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ I would call your ob office and just ask if they can check you/ do a sweep at your next appointment! Worst they can say is no 😉

I just got mine done yesterday 38 weeks and 2 days but it depends on your obgyn I was only 1 cm when she did it

My doctor did 2 sweeps between 37-38 weeks because they wanted me to be induced at 37 weeks unless I was ok to go longer so I opted for the sweeps and my waters broke naturally at 38+2 most doctors won’t do sweeps until 39-40 weeks due to your body usually not being ready so they don’t work a lot. If you are that uncomfortable and in pain etc speak to your doctor and see if they can do anything for you

My doc won’t do them until 40 weeks but do you have a breast pump? Putting it on for a while is one of the best ways to induce labor

Unless your body’s not ready a sweep won’t work unfortunately, I’d personally wait till 39 weeks but that’s me. You’ve got this muma Goodluck x

There is Very little evidence a membrane sweeps works. They may want to start doing them around 37ish weeks but until your body is ready it is pointless.

I dont know. But I delivered a 9 11 baby and it was horrid! My doctor estimated she was 7.5 literally the day before she was born. I was so mad. The delivery was horrible, we both almost died. 
I switched doctors and he is already talking about letting me have the baby a week early if there’s any thought that the baby is as big as my first. 
So I feel ya mama! I hope you get some relief soon. ❤️
