Sleep Training
When I say “sleep training”, I mean that I want to get my son to be able to fall back asleep on his own when his sleep cycle resets. He’s been in the four month sleep regression for four weeks now. I’m EXHAUSTED. My husband and I were thinking of doing some sleep training to help him be able to self-settle. I’m fine with waking up 1-2 times to nurse like he did before, but right now he’s waking every hour.
I have read a lot online and my thoughts were to start by only letting him cry for a very short period of time (every 3 min the first night, 5 the second, etc). But I don’t know if I should pick him up or not. Because I feel like it I went to console him after 3 min, nothing is going to get him to calm down unless I pick him up.
Anyone got any insight? I’m not a fan of full CIO. I don’t want to do anything super intense or that could be damaging to him. I appreciate any suggestions!
