Toddlersaurus Rex??

Has anyone else’s sweet babe suddenly turned into toddlersaurus rex?? My son isn’t hitting or kicking or biting thankfully. He’s throwing fits when he doesn’t get what he wants or when he doesn’t want to do certain things. The whole screaming and throwing himself on the floor thing has started. 😒 I can tell he is testing us on everything! It’s usually just at home so far but I know it will happen in public someday soon. This all seemed to have happened overnight and I miss my sweet boy!

Mine loves to hit his head against the wall instead of throwing himself on the floor. It drives me nuts, but I also know it’s a phase and once he can express himself it will be better.

Yep. She’s now the queen of stomping her feet in place and making the worst, most dramatic, “crying” face. For the most part we just ignore her, she’s figure that out then stops. Hopefully that will continue to work.

Oh yes haha. And I cant help but laugh when she does it, because when she "throws herself back", she does it so cautiously and slow because she doesn't want to hurt herself haha. But she does this a lot when she doesn't get her way recently. Also only at home so far, thankfully

Ahhh yes!! My daughter can’t see my phone without screaming because she wants it. Or anything else she wants but can’t have... screaming and crying tantrums. My first daughter never did this so I really have no idea how to handle it!!

YES! Anytime I tell my son ‘No’ he will fall to the floor and hits his head on the ground. I just stare and wait for him to Stop. He’s wanting a reaction so I don’t give it to him and he stops. Also, these aren’t like complete bangs, usually he ever so softly taps his head on the ground so he won’t really hurt himself lol

My daughter is doing this as well, in public, and oh is she good at producing real life BIG crocodile tears. At first they start with the fake cry face and when me and husband ignore her they turn into BIG BIG tears and I feel so bad for ignoring her tantrum. I don’t know what to do? I don’t want to take her to the store anymore because of the crying and screaming fits. What do I do?? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😭😭😭

She can get pretty upset for a minute or two, but getting down on her level and trying to give words to what/why she's feeling is helpful for both of us--for me to keep the situation in perspective and even help anyone else's seeing it understand. "Yes, I know you're sad, you don't want to put pants on before we go outside. This must be really hard for you." 😂 "Yes, you're sad we can't keep the big toy car. Let's say bye-bye to it together."
