Can switching pill brands help with breakthrough bleeding?

Hi ladies! I’m planning on going back to doctors next week but wanted to hear from anyone else who experienced this as well.

I was on Levlen a few years back and had great results, no side effects and no spotting at all. Earlier this year I tried again and had breakthrough bleeding for almost a month and it was so frustrating so I stopped. It wasn’t heavy but enough to leave a tampon in for the day.

I’m back on Levlen again for the third time to give it another go, I started on the first day of my period. I’m pretty regular with my periods and right now it definitely should have stopped so I know I am bleeding from the pill.

Has anyone experienced the same thing and changed to another brand of the pill and it stopped the breakthrough bleeding? A couple of my friends switched to Yasmin and no issues.
