Pedialyte questions

So my son threw up pretty bad yesterday, like grown people throwing up. I took him to his doctor she said he could either be coming down with something or because he was laying down it could’ve just came back up from not being digested properly. He hasn’t thrown up since then. He just hasn’t been as much as he normally does. No fever. Still peeing. Had a few poops today not all of them were diarrhea like. Should I be giving him pedialyte if he’s not drinking as much or only if he vomits again?
