How do men feel about Women who have lost weight?

Hi,

I'm a female, and I've been pretty healthy all my life( 50th percentile until 2 yrs ago when I started gaining weight). I weigh about 165lbs currently and I am 5'4". I am also currently single.

My biggest worry about when I lose weight (going for 120-130lbs), is that I'm going to find a significant other and he is going to find out I used to be overweight. If you found out the girl you are seeing used to be 40lbs heavier how would you feel? I need honest opinions. Would you look at her differently? Is it a turnoff? Please comment!

I would honestly be impressed and have a lot of respect for you. Having the drive and motivation to lose that weight says a lot about you. If anybody has a negative reaction to finding out you USED TO BE heavier, you shouldn't see them anyway.

My husband has been with me both heavy and light. He loves me both ways. People are surprised when they see pics of me heavier, but they don't look down on me. They seem impressed at the work I did to lose, and the work I do to maintain. But you need to do it for you. Do what makes you confident.

When I met my partner I was 9stone 6lbs lighter. If lost half of my body weight and he never new, one day we went into my auntie house and she had my old photo on her wall, I never felt so embarrassed in life!Whilst I don’t have an answer for you as him and I have never spoken about it I know where your fear comes from.

I don't think I would really feel any type of way? I'd just be like oh they were that size and now they're this size. If anything it shows you have good willpower and determination when it comes to making changes about yourself. I honestly wouldn't worry too much hun I don't think it'll be a problem
