Silly question, but I really want to understand!

So if a woman ovulates and the egg doesn’t get fertilised, the Cervical mucus becomes clumpy and dries up, until the next cycle.

But when a woman ovulates, and the egg does get fertilised, the cervical mucus will continue producing, and the discharge will vary in colour and formation.

Is that right or am I doing my research incorrectly?
