Is my appointment too far away?

I’m current 5w2d pregnant and I couldn’t get into my doctor until January 20th when I’ll be 9.5 weeks. Is that too long to wait?
I asked to get in sooner and they told me I could try a walk in clinic instead. 
I haven’t had my blood drawn yet so I have no idea my hcg levels. Can I still announce to family on Christmas?

I'm 4 weeks, 6 days and my appointment is Jan 28th when I will be 10 weeks, 2 days.  This is standard procedure for my doctor's office when you don't have any history that would make the pregnancy high risk. This is my 3rd baby and I'm fortunate that I didn't have any issues with my previous two pregnancies. We are planning to announce to family on Christmas day by slipping a photo of my youngest wearing a big sister shirt into the Christmas presents.

In Canada, that’s actually early. They typically don’t schedule you for the first appointment until 12 weeks. The only time you’ll get one in 8-10 weeks is if you’re high risk. I’m 5+5 and my first appointment isn’t until the end of Jan when I’ll be 10+4.

Usually you dont have an appointment or blood drawn before 10 weeks unless you have had issues in the past. Seems normal to me. Announce if you would like. There's no wrong or right answer to that. Anyone you are willing to tell them your pregnant, make sure you are also willing to tell them you aren't if that becomes the case. Congratulations and enjoy your baby!

It’s standard at my doctors office to do them around 10 weeks! I will be nine week though at my scan. I’m 5w2d today!

Not being seen until 10-12 weeks is completely normal. You don’t need any blood drown or tested for HCG. Completely unnecessary. I’ve never been tested and don’t plan to. Yes, you can announce.

I went in as a walk-in at the Dr on Friday. They tested everything . I have to go back Monday. But then my next appt isn't until 1/24

My first appointment is January 27. I will be 12, almost 13 weeks. If there isn’t anything wrong or you aren’t having symptoms that are worrisome, just relax and trust your body. I have a history of having had cancer and an ectopic pregnancy. I know when my body is off and if it isn’t giving me warning signs, I am trusting that it’s doing the right thing. Less intervention, the better IMO.

You can still announce, you can also do a $40 blood test at quest and they do walk ins or schedule online.   it’s not too late most women have us between 7-8 weeks so one week won’t make a huge difference. If you’re not attached to your doc You could look for a new one.
