Giving medicine

My son is on an antibiotic for an ear infection and pink eye 😭 he used to love to take Tylenol when he would have it but he says this medicine is “hot”🤦🏻‍♀️😂. I tried bribes, putting it on a spoon with whipped cream, nothing worked. Only thing that works is my husband holding him down, basically forcing his mouth open, plugging his nose then I shoot it in with a syringe and my husband keeps his head tilt back until he swallows it. It’s horrible and I feel so bad, but I do know he has to take it and it’s best for him and I explain that to him and give him a small treat after. Anyone else have an issue similar, or any solutions??
