Vaginal or abdominal?

I am due for a scan on Monday when I would be approx 7w+3days. I haven’t received any correspondence on my scan details. Did anyone have a scan around this time? Was it abdominal or transvaginal? I am kind of scared of having an internal scan when pregnant 😥

I've had both, but I think you get better quality pics with the vaginal and they're less uncomfortable as baby is so low they really have to push into the pelvis to see bub during abdominal scans (especially if you're plus sized like me).

I had abdominal at 6 weeks. Still was able to see it and heart the heartbeat. Was only going to transvaginal if they couldn't get what they need from abdominal.

Just had mine done at 7w3d. Heart beat was 131. Abdominal

The vaginal exam isn’t that bad or as scary as it looks 😂 I was like wtf THAT goes WHERE?! 😂 but my doctor is amazing, she’s very patient with me and explained it all to me, the whole thing doesn’t actually go inside, your vagina isn’t that big 😂 plus she let me put it in myself so it was hardly uncomfortable at all. Supa easy, & like everyone is saying you get way better pictures of your lil one!

They did both for me. They told me they do the vaginal one until 12 weeks pregnancy

I had only transvaginal in the first trimester and thought it was great because you could see way more. I just got used to it.

I just had mine yesterday at 7w4d and it was transvaginal. It really isn’t that bad once you get passed the awkwardness of it. I barely felt it after it was in. And you get to see your little peanut better!
