I was just curious what you guys best advice for making a marriage work was?

communication and listening are the the most important things in my opinion.

Aside from communication, knowing that you are compatible before taking that step. Do your future plans align? Financial planning, sex drives, the desire to have kids?

Be open. If you want something, say it. If something is bothering you, say so. Too many people rely on hints and that the other person will feel whatever you’re feeling. We’re not mind readers. Me and my husband have discovered that it works perfectly to be absolutely blunt about some things. For example when we go to bed, or during the day we’ll both be on our phones and I’m not a fan, I miss him when he’s at work and I don’t want to spend our time together on our phones, but we easily get sucked into social media. So I just look at him and I tell him I need attention 😃😃😄 he does the same. If one of us says it, the other immediately drops whatever they’re doing (if it’s not important of course). If something is on my mind, I like to share before it gets too much, because I don’t want to blow up in his face. Sometimes we’re both a bit passive aggressive, we call each other out. Sometimes we say things that we don’t realize are hurting the other. With time you kinda start learning what offends them and not, but still...our partner cannot read our mind so we have to let them in!
