I feel it depends on how long you two have been together. Like if you’re 0-4 months in, i would say wait but any longer than that, spend it together. I don’t know, maybe I’m just old school but I don’t rush into spending holidays with people

If we had been together for awhile then, yes, I would expect to spend it together. But if we had just started dating recently, I probably wouldn’t expect anything for Christmas or New Years just because it would be too soon in my book. Basically, I wouldn’t want to rush anything or put unnecessary pressure on the relationship.

We do ...we've been together for 6years now . Nd we do everything together my husband dint really have friends or care for company but him nd his friends do catch up.. with me is usually his first choice period tho

In theory sure. So and I have been together almost 2 decades. There have been new years where one of us has gone on a guy/girl trip, or just a vacation with friends (when we were younger and more fun lol) and we arent necessarily together.  So, I guess spend it together but dont be upset if it doesnt happen because of something planned like a vacation. It is new years, not a birthday.

In a way, I feel like he should be here with me (and his sons.) But my husband never goes anywhere besides work and I wouldn't be upset with him if he wanted to spend New Year's with a friend or with his brother. I think the right word is I'd prefer him to be with us, rather than I feel like he should have to.
