Christmas Baby Loss

Kassandra

On Monday, December 23rd, we went in for an ultrasound and saw our baby on screen for the last time. His poor little heart was no longer beating.

On Tuesday, December 24th at 8 a.m., I gave birth to Benjamin Fox Rinehard peacefully and easily. He was perfect, from his fingers to his toes and his little knobby knees and elbows.

We are saddened by the loss of our baby boy, but something amazing has come out of this. Nick and I can truly say that we are basking in the peace that surpasses all understanding.

The cause of death is unknown, a month ago he was fine, but these things do sometimes happen. We know he is alive in Heaven, so the reasoning is not a priority for us now.

Over all of this though, we know that God is still so so good and He is, was, and always will be Lord over this. We praise Him and are honored that we gave birth to our son, who has been escorted right into Heaven, at the same time we celebrate the birth of His son, Jesus. The Savior of the world, the reason I know that I will see my Benji boy again.

So we praise Him, in the middle of our storm.

Your prayers and kind words are appreciated. We are doing very well, pray for continued peace and joy! We love you all. May God bless you and everyone have a Merry Christmas. We will be celebrating two birthdays this Christmas and we could not be more honored than to share Benji’s birthday celebration with Jesus’s. @ Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center
