Painful contractions and vomiting at 33 weeks

Elizabeth

Tonight just after I got into bed I started having incredibly painful contractions. They weren’t necessarily consistent. They would last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute and were sometimes 5 minutes apart and other times 10-15 minutes apart. I got very nauseous and threw up at one point. The baby was going crazy during the contractions too. Just as I was getting ready to call the on call doctor they stopped. Does that sound like Braxton Hicks contractions? Is it normal to have painful ones like that with nausea and vomiting at 33 weeks? And the baby was just going crazy. He did not like it one bit. I’m going to call my dr in the morning but since they’ve stopped I think I’m okay for now. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it’s normal or a sign of preterm labor.
