Formula with rice advice??

Question

I was wondering if anyone had input on this formula with rice in it? My little one is spitting up a ton, my doctor seems to thinks it’s because he’s eating to close together and is throwing up the extra food. He suggest that this will keep him full longer so he doesn’t eat every 2-3 hours   However I’ve always heard your not supposed to give rice because it’s a choking hazard so I’m extremely skeptical about using it. Any and all advice is welcome! I could also be totally wrong lol🤦‍♀️ (I know Im sure he wouldn’t have given it if it wasn’t safe but I’m still curious to hear what other moms have to say)

I use the Similac version for the same reason. It’s actually not thick until it gets to the belly! So baby won’t choke. Should you have any concerns or don’t feel comfortable using it, dont! Nothing wrong with doing what you feel is best 😊

I use this one not sure if it's the same as the o e in your picture but my son has drank it since he was 10ish weeks old. He loves it. It does help with spitting up etc. He's never choked or anything either! My 15 week old eats 4oz every 2-4 hours

If you want to try and separate the feeds and don’t want to use baby rice, does the brand of milk you use have a “hungry baby” milk?
My health visitor said that it does not actually fill them up more, what it does because of the ratio of protein is different not to the regular newborn milk, therefor taking longer to go through the digestive system which will then make baby go longer between feeds.
If your not comfortable with changing or adding anything then don’t, as long as baby is fed and is gaining weight then don’t do anything your not not comfortable with.

I’ve used Enfamil AR for about 2 months now! My little one has acid reflux! It’s helped but she still spits up (not throw up any longer!) i use the ready to feed but will be switching to the powder. Follow the directions on the can. It also helps if you can mix a bunch (like in the dr browns pitcher) too. It’s really thick and before with the powder, I had to use a different nipple because the formula wouldn’t go through the newborn nipples. Be warned - if the baby spits up , that spit up is brown and stains clothes!

I have to mix this formula with gentlease for my little guy. A full bottle was to much for his belly. But he is 4 months this week and eats 6-7 oz every 3 hrs almost to the dot. He’s a hungry monster! It helps though and no choking. ￼

We use this for our son he was born 7 weeks early and this the only formula he would not puke on. Also target up and up has an added rice that we use and is half the price
