How is everyone getting induced???

When reading through post it seems like everyone is getting induced early??? Im in the uk and they let you go 2 weeks over due before they induce you? Im due the 12th January and my midwife hasnt even spoken to me about being induced?

It's a US thing. I could go on a whole rant about it, but I believe OBs are trained to take "every precaution" even when those precautions are entirely unnecessary. I prefer to see a midwife because of it. Midwives are trained to view and treat birth as a natural process, while OBs are trained to see it as a medical emergency, something that needs to be controlled right down to breaking the waters to help "speed things up" (nothing like causing potential stress to mother and baby by forcing the body to progress faster than it wants 🙄).

I have a midwife and she won’t induce me unless I get to 41 weeks. I think 42 weeks is quite a long time to wait to be induced. Some inductions are because of health issues.

I go back to my OB Tuesday on the 31 and I’ll be 39 weeks and a day. He told me if we didn’t have a baby by then, then we would talk about having one. So I’m assuming he’s talking induction probably on or a week after my due date. My baby is only in the 40th percentile for weight so he will probably let me go over.

My OB is looking at inducing me around my due date if I haven’t gone into labour due to bub measuring big. This is to avoid a csection due to bubs size.

I have midwives and they are willing to induce me at 39w because of my age (I’m 38)

I’ve had more swelling than they would like to see and now my blood pressure is getting worrisome and both are signs of preeclampsia. Our baby is also an ivf baby so this was anticipated. We will be discussing induction on Thursday which is 37 weeks after an ultrasound

When I was 32 weeks I wasn’t having any complications but my doctor suggested inducing at 39 weeks just because it’s my second baby and it could speed things up. There was literally no other reason. But at this point I’m being induced next week at 37weeks because of my blood pressure.

I’m going for a vbac and my doctor isn’t putting a time limit on when this baby can come right now, she said if I go overdue we’ll talk about induction but there’s no point until then. My water broke with my first at 37 weeks so she doesn’t think induction will be necessary.
