How to fix this- too much baking soda

I followed a waffle recipe to the T now and it's way too soda-y. It's literally all you can taste.

I still have about half the batter. If I make a whole new batch of batter, and add little (or no) baking soda, and then mix the batches would that take away the soda taste (then freeze the whole batch- it's currently only about 15 minutes old and has been refrigerated)?

*Thanks, I've mixed the batches and will hope for the best. The recipe called for soda and it's my first time making so I don't know any better but I've googled other recipes that use baking powder or yeast for next time
