Hashimotos?

Does anyone have this? It runs in my family and my antibodies are 1500 but my thyroid function is still in normal range. The past year I’ve noticed a steady decline in my health. I’m constantly exhausted, dizzy, foggy, lots of weight gain, low mood, dark patches under my arms and one on my forehead. I feel like my fertility specialist is t taking it seriously enough. My last antibody test was 6 months ago so she retested my TSH and said it’s normal but they didn’t test my antibodies which is weird. Does levothyroxine/synthroid help in my case or do I just have to deal with my symptoms until my TSH is raised enough? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth going to my GP and getting a referral to an endocrinologist or if that would just be a waste of time/money and getting my hopes up.

I have the same question!!!! I’m tired of feeling like crap all the time! I was diagnosed with hashimotos in December... after my depression and anxiety started being 1000x worse that I couldn’t even leave my house! After 6 months to get into the endo they started me on tapazole 5mg and inderal 10mg 3x a day bc my lab results this past July were showing hyperthyroid, which I had all of the symptoms minus the weight loss... I have gained 80lbs in the past 2 years, but now i stay within the same weight give or take some. The day I was prescribed this medication I completed some more labs and got a call a week later from the doctor advising me that my levels were within normal range so there’s no need for medication now. I still take the inderal as it stops the heart palpitations, but I still have super high anxiety/panic attacks, diarrhea, heat intolerant, and I sweat profusely when doing light house work. My TSH is 4.08 free T4 1.20 free T3 4.0 and my antibodies 101. I’m gluten free, I’ve cut out sugary drinks and mainly just eat meat and fresh/frozen vegetables and haven’t noticed any difference in the way I feel. 
I’ve read tons of forums and people who have similar situations and it took them years to start feeling “normal” and even people who take medication even for high-normal range TSH and it helps with their symptoms and fluctuate their mg or even take both kinds of medications to regulate normal t3 and t4 levels. Some doctors are okay with that but some aren’t... my doctor isn’t and insists that my symptoms may be stemming from something else.

I have Hashimotos. I understand what you are going through and it is not easy. Here are my thoughts for you. You should be getting a full panel of blood work done for the thyroid and not just TSH for it to show your thyroid a functioning level. You should be on medication. I took Levothyroxine but found my body responded better to a name brand-unithroid. I would highly recommend getting referred to an endocrinologist. They are specialists in the matter and will be more thorough in your care. Also, there are diet changes that can be made to help support your thyroid and keep from flare ups. 
All of your symptoms are very typical for a flare up and I have experienced them also. It brought on depression and losing some of my hair also.  
I began to research Hashimotos, because I needed to know what was going on with my body and what I could do other than medication to help the symptoms. Doctors never explained it thoroughly to me. 
Website and books by Dr. Isabella Wentz was the most helpful to me. Also, talking with others that have Hashimotos was helpful in educating myself as well as receiving the support I needed while I was going through medication adjustments and my TSH levels were slowly lowering. 
Just so you are know, the medicine will not totally solve all of your problems, but it will make life easier. I still have brain fog, can’t handle stress well, and a very low immune system. Hashimotos is an auto immune disease and therefore, your immune system will always be attacking your body instead of helping. It is possible to get other autoimmune disease, if you don’t get Hashimotos under control. You can’t be healed but you can maintain and do your best to not get flare ups. Stress is one of the biggest contributing factors to flare ups.

I saw that this was from Dec. have you had an ultrasound? Do you have any nodules? It is common with people who have thyroid cancer to have hashimotos. I would get it checked out

Go to a naturopathic doctor it all starts with your gut and they can help you go on a diet plan that focuses on WHY your body is attacking itself not just masking with medicine. 
Also check out hashimoto protocol book . It's great.

I would give the endocrinologist a shot... if they end up saying the same as your gynecologist, then you'll at least have some peace of mind and reassurance.

Look into changing your diet. I have Hashimoto's but very low antibodies but my TSH is high normal/just above normal depending on when I get my blood draw. So I do have synthroid. 
Synthroid doesnt do anything for the antibodies though. It just replaces t4, but if your TSH is normal (what is the number?). Synthroid may not help you. Now there are some Japanese studies that see some positives to taking synthroid with high antibodies but low TSH. 
ULTIMATELY...find an endocrinologist. They will help you more, especially since you are symptomatic. They will help you more. As this is what they are trained for

I saw 4 endocrinologist over 7 years and waisted so much time and money, I quit sugar and most of my symptoms went away. In a month my “ moon face” slimmed down noticeably and my neck was not as tight. My buffalo hump has not diminished though. My joint swelling went away but comes back for about 3 days if I cheat and have cake. Have not lost any weight.
