Should I say something?
So for xmas my bf asked me what I wanted. I gave him a small list of gifts I'd like including a fuzzy robe, satin pjs, posture corrector, etc...mostly stuff under $100. I sent him the list maybe 2 hrs after he texted asking me (I was working). He responded "too late I already got your gift, I think you'll like it"
He said he didnt know what he wanted & I told him I had already picked out some stuff hed really like.
Fast forward to xmas, I got him a robe, some guitar related items and a few books related to his other hobbies which he was really happy with. He gave me a gift card to Victoria's secret, which was very sweet except I dont shop at Victoria's secret. I told him thank you and that it was very generous but I was honestly a little bummed out just bc I felt like a gift card was impersonal.
I tried to make the best of it, went to VS the other day and bought a few things with my gift card (2bralettes, and a piece of lingerie). When I got home I realized nothing fit properly, what DID fit was very uncomfortable and unflattering, and I had walked out with only 3 items after spending $160.
Idk if I should Express this to him or not. My birthday is coming up soon and I'm afraid he will get me another gift card there because he thinks I liked it so much. What should I do or say? Or should I just keep my mouth shut & keep the uncomfortable items in the back of my drawer?
Note: we've been together almost 3 years. We live where weed is legal and he has previously gotten me a bong or pipe for EVERY bday or xmas. This year I asked him specifically not to get me anything smoking related because I dont do that very often. Just feeling a little lost bc I put in lots of thought and effort to his gifts but feeling like he doesn't put much effort into mine. I know I should be grateful to receive anything but I still feel a little upset. Thank you for reading.
