New tobacco age limit

Can we just talk about how they raised the age limit to buy tobacco products? Do they just expect all the 18 to 20 year olds that have been smoking to just stop? Is it illegal for them to smoke now too? Like what even? Back in my day I could buy a pack of cigs at 18 😂😭
