Can they steal my identity?

So i was involved in a realty scam. 
I arrived at the property i was looking to rent. They told me to create an account on realty.com, to make an account i was supposed to post a selfie, a picture of my ID front and back, and my credit card info to pay “99 cents” 
It posted a selfie and my Id front and back until i got to the credit card info thats when it clicked “this could be a scam” so i closed the account and walked away from the property. Now im afraid the scammers could do something with my ID 
Should i go to the dmv and report it lost?

You didn’t lose your ID, so no you shouldn’t report it lost but you do need to watch your credit, bank and card accounts like a hawk. They now have all the information needed to do quite a bit of damage. Perhaps notify your credit card company, freeze/close that card and get a new one. If you used a debit or credit card linked to your bank, freeze and go to the bank immediately.

I work for a company and we rent homes in different states we have rently for lock boxes. In order to do self viewing you need to take a selfie and provide general information and make a payment of $0.99 to register and get a code to view the home. You will get a txt an a email code to get access to the lockbox to view the property. We take this measures for security reason and to protect our homes from people damaging the home. But yes there is a lot of scammers this is why you research before you provide the information.

I’d report it to the bbb (better business bureau). There’s an rmv scam going on right now too with a “.com” for a license renewal instead of “.gov”.

That is very suspicious & I would report it. I think they can duplicate your ID, but not steal your identity, not use your card if you didn't put in the info.
I've never heard of having to make an account to rent a property.

They can’t do much with your ID unless they wanna duplicate it or something (no point really, if they’re after money) and I agree with everyone else, just keep an eye on your Accts. Good job, Sounds like you did the right thing

Idk what reporting it lost would do...the information on the ID wouldn't change like the info on a debit/credit card would.
