What's a "normal" period while breastfeeding?

I've seen comments saying things like it's harder to get pregnant, and that some people dont have their period till they're done BF. Is that true?
I got my period pretty much right after my postpartum bleeding ended (which was about 8 weeks) and I got like two periods the month after that, and then one period the next month, and now I haven't had one in about two months.
Someone make sense for me! Lol

My doctor said that for those breastfeeding its coming to not see their period return until 8-10 months pp or within 2 months of stopping. And cycles may not be consistent so I think lack of cycle or funky ones is totally normal until about a year pp.

I have 3 kids, so far it has been the same for me all 3 times.
Period starts between 6-8 weeks pp.
Second period is wonky/late.
3rd period is normal.
Get a period every 30 days on average, give or take a few days. 
I got the paragard inserted after having baby 2 and then again after baby 3. The paragard makes me have some breakthrough spotting randomly but doesn’t affect my period overall. 
Going on 6 months of breastfeeding and pumping. Breastfed my last child 14 months
