"it's not a show" 🙄

Sammie

Okay, so from the moment I found out I was pregnant I've wanted a picture of my baby when she was entering this world, mine and hubbies faces once she is here and then pictures of her once she is under the warmer and we know her weight and length. But my doctor (one of the on call delivery doctors) said "it's not a show, once baby is all cleaned up pictures are more than welcome". I understand that by law I can't take pictures of the nurses or the doctor but why is it a problem that I want a picture of my own body and my child?

So confused on what to do, the closest birthing center is almost 3 hours away so that's a no go. 🙄😭

(I'm 26+4 and had a whole plan)

I agree with Hannah. If their policy will allow you to take pictures, look into a birth photographer. They’re expensive, but super worth it. (By the sounds of your post, that’s what you’re already thinking but wanted to suggest it just inc are 😁)

Check the hospital policy🤷‍♀️ the hospital closest to my house has a no filming OR picture policy but the next closest one let you do whatever you want. Depends on where you go.

I called and the maternity nurse said that the policy states that no videos are allowed but I can have as many picture as I want 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I would just have a designated picture taker. My sister did it with our second and we’ve hired a photographer for the birth this time. Just avoid capturing nurses or doctors

I had a csection so my nurse took the photos for us. Because there are things they dont want us to see. But i have a perfect shot of the dr pulling her out of me.

With our son, our doctor encouraged my husband to take photos during the c-section. She told him as long as he’s not in her way, he could go anywhere in the room to get the best shots. We even showed her the photos of her pulling him out at our follow up appointment and she loved them. Like they said, check the policy. As weird as the c-section photos are, we will always cherish those personal photos.

You tell him, we will be taking photos we won’t be taking photos of nurses, he can’t stop you from taking a photo of your own body
