Could this be hand foot mouth?

My 8 month old had a spot on the top of his foot one day and the next day he had a few more and then today I noticed this on his diaper area. He’s had a low grade fever for atleast a week ranging from 99.4/99.7 I found out today another baby room at daycare had a few cases of it. I’m calling the doctor when they come back from lunch just wanted some opinions.

I’m not sure from these pictures but I can tell you about our experience...
She had a high fever for two days in a row. After that she would scream and cry from her throat/mouth hurting and would barely eat anything... wouldn’t even take a pacifier. Then a few spots popped up around her mouth. After that her hands, feet, legs, back of knees, and groin area were covered.

Your pic looks like it could be some sort of rash but please seek advice from a doctor if you are concerned. Its quite contagious so avoid contact with others if you believe it is.  My brother and niece just had HFM.... his was pretty severe.
