Just off Nexplanon question

So I'm over 2,000 days without a period and got my nexplanon out Dec 31. I took 2 ovulation tests just messing around to see what it says. They were both obviously super negative. I only held my urine for 2 hours and it was done at 1pm. For future reference, when should I start testing from now on? Should I wait till after I get my first period? Should I hold it more than 2 hours? Is 1pm too early in the day to test ? I'm super new to this and not ttc. Always reading about it but getting mixed advice on how to use an ovulation test. I'm also taking my bbt and track cm.
