Anyone else get so frustrated with how much daycare costs. It’s impossible for me to even work with a good job. Lol I would literally make nothing. Rant over... btw in my area the average daycare is a $1,300 1,600 a month. My partner makes way to much  to qualify for assistance and most daycares here don’t take it anyway.

Yes!! I’d like to go back to work even just part time but putting him in daycare for part time or even full time isn’t worth it! Daycare is soooo expensive where I live! For a quality one at least. So alas, I’m still a stay at home mom.

Yes it’s insane. I live in Ontario Canada and it’s 1600 a month for a daycare centre until 18 months then it drops to 1300. The joys

I have to work as I provide the insurance. We pay about $1300 a month for 2 kids ($756 for the baby and 580 for my 3 year old). It’s so expensive, but I love where they go and this is actually on the cheap end for most, so I will grin and bear it. What I don’t get is the cost of medications and doctor bills. We have medical bills coming out our ears .... and we make good money. So ridiculous.

Sane here! My husband did that math when I was pregnant, after Daycare I would maybe bring home $45 a MONTH, so for our family I decided to stay home. I know not eveyone can do that, im so grateful I get to watch him grow, knowing soon I will have to go back.

That's why I'm going to just be working one or two shifts a week when I go back from mat leave. My husband works shift work, so we are lucky that I can just go to work a couple times a week when he's at home with the baby.

I’m curious what it costs in different areas. In my city it ranges from 550-1000 depending on if you can get into a government regulated daycare (cheap) or if you go with a private day home (more expensive). We’ll probably end up paying $1000 a month and I think that’s okay since we only have one baby

Omg yes. Daycare is killing us. My daycare just had to close for 2 days because her son has RSV plus shes closed over the holidays (after Xmas and on New Years Eve) which I don't get off work. So I had to use ALL my PTO that ive accrued since maternity leave just in the last 2 weeks plus i still have to pay her for those days! If I have to miss another day I'll have to find someone to watch him and pay double! It's insane. I know they need to make a living too, but I literally make $50k a year and my husband makes $40k and we still are barely scraping by due to daycare and medical bills. It's so stressful.

Daycare is ridiculous. I’m about to start paying 260$ a week and that’s a decent price considering the rest I looked at were 300-350!!!! Plus you have to do full time for infants here since they don’t crib share which I am grateful for, however really only need care for him 3x a week while I’m in school. Ugh.
