Is it weird for an ex wife to keep her ex husbands last name??

So my fiancé’s ex wife has his last name. Should I take his last name when we get married in May? His ex wife also a daughter  that took my fiancé’s last name. Her daughter is not my fiancé’s biological ￼daughter and he’s not on the birth certificate. I do have a daughter with my fiancé and she has his last name. I feel weird taking his last name cause of his ex. She also just had a baby with her daughters real father me and my fiancé don’t know if she gave my fiancé’s last name to her son. If she gave her son my fiancé’s last name does that mean she still in love with my fiancé? ￼

I think you’re thinking too much into it. It’s a hassle to change your name. My mom kept her last name after divorcing my dad for like almost a decade until she remarried and changed her last name. As for the child, maybe your fiancé is a father figure to that child? Idk it’s petty to not want his last name because of his ex. He doesn’t control her actions. Worry less about her and what she does as it’s non of your business and just focus on your own relationship.

No, my mother was married to my dad for 26 years.  They have been divorced for 20 years and she still have his name.

I think it is weird, but my SO's ex wife has his last name. They aren't even fully divorced, only legally separated. It costs a lot to file and change your name, so that's why she still has it. I hate the idea of it, but it's usually due to money/filing purposes

I would want to keep the same name as my kid I think... I’m undecided on if it’s weird to give the second bub his name if he’s not in the picture. Obviously their dad is somewhat around... but I’d understand her wanting them all to have the same name and changing one name, let alone multiple names is hard enough.

My husband’s ex wife kept his last name since it’s a pain to change your last name. They separated 8+ years ago and divorced in 2017. She has the same last name as their son. 
I don’t care what name she has. I have the man. 
I kept my ex’s last name. Not because I liked it my ex is very abusive.  You can’t file for divorce until 366 days after being separated then it’s another 3-6 months for the divorce to be final.  I didn’t want to go through everything to legally change my last name to change it again when i got remarried. I’m from the us but live in Canada. Immigration and passports along with everything else. It’s time consuming. 
Don’t worry about who has his name and why. You can’t force her to change it. It’s not a requirement to change it once divorce. 
You get the guy. She can have the name and so can you.

I kept my ex husbands last name. My kids have the same last name and I’ve had this last name my entire adult life since I got married at 18. It would be a pain to change everything over and I wanted to have the same last name as my kids. If I get married I will change to his last name but why do extra stuff when I don’t have to?

Changing your last name is a real pain in the ass. So, when I was going through a divorce I decided I would not go back to my maiden name. First, because it was am additional cost I didnt need. Secondly,  because it was time consuming to go through the hassle of proving multiple name changes. 
A lot of women do not change their last name after a divorce.
